Default Traffic exchanges

Do you use any kind of traffic exchanges to promote your site?

Do you think traffic exchanges will draw in users genuinely interested in your site, or are they just surfing for more credits?

Personally I think traffic exchanges will only work for very general sites, such as adult sites/humour sites where most of the time the actual site is not an issue but the content.

Banner exchanges are OK but you run the risk of having a load of naff banners plastered all over your site.

Im constantly looking at ways to promote this site (well both the forum and site) and have tried many things over the years. Next up is a professionally written article (due last week!) for the main site coupled with a press release.

I've found the hardest thing is not so much getting visitors to your site but getting them to stay and come back! So the challenge for this year is to make my site more "sticky"

Traffic exchanges can work if there are enough sites in the program, and the niche is deep. I am looking around for one that is worthwhile and if I find one, I will let everyone know!

Lyndon is pretty much right. If your site is niche, which most sites are, traffic exchanges will not do you any good. People are only visiting to get traffic in return.

Hi there,

Traffic exchanges are a bit of a stab in the dark. Many of them require you to spend a lot of time surfing to get credits so that your ad will be shown to other surfers who are only doing the same and not taking any notice of your ad.

I suppose the best known as being one of the better one's is TrafficSwarm which is used by all the top so called 'gurus' so you may want to try it and its free to join.

just my thoughts,

regards,

Mal.

I just dont know about these TE, i have been surfing them for awhile now and the results to time conversion is just not that good. I only use sqeeze & splash pages as any other type is a waste of time. I think you can use your time more wisely.

If possible spend your time writing articles and submitting them to article directories, also print them on your blog, that is how the search engine spiders will find your articles and if you keep doing this and try to make all your articles unique then eventually your website ranking will increase.

good luck

Mal
