Default Google CPM

Has anyone ever gone to a site and clicked the advertise here under the google adsense banners? I've done it once or twice but never really took the time to pay any more interest into it. Has it gotten you any increase in sales? Is it a profitable way of marketing and at which CPM should i purchase $1.00 USD or more?

I haven't done it myself, however a friend at a rather large forum has several advertisers using this option on Google Adwords. Most of them have been there for quite a while so Im guessing that the ROI is worth it if you target the site and audience well.

With regards the CPM level - it highly depends on the keywords. I once had a loan site and the average click cost well over $8 - so I prefer to start low with niche keywords (use wordtracker.com) where the CPM level is much lower and work your way up to the higher levels.

I have been told to be careful if you use google ad words, I got told to read an e-book on it first..I have a very good mentor to advise me,,although I haven't got to that stage yet, I will let everyone know when I do and what I did,,have a great day all.

I am on the publisher side and AdSense never seems to want for advertisers. People are definitely clicking through and I believe there are tracking tools to determine conversions as well. I think it would be worth a try.
