Is is hard to start your own forum, and what is requried to start one?

The software is free from phpBB but these free forums are prone to spammers and other problems so you need someone who knows what they're doing to add various modifications. The hardest thing is getting people on it - and staying on it rather than making one post then running away again. You also need to have reliable people as moderators. I'm happy to put you on to my geek friend if you need help with the software side of things.

) forums are fine with the proper safeguards and getting new members can be a challenge because there are so many forums out there and members tend to be loyal to about three to five sites depending on the time they have available to devote to them.

I can't remember how I found this site but liked it straight away otherwise I would not have registered. If you do get your forum started you then have to build up the momentum to keep members coming back,
