Default Pyramid or mlm?

Hi everyone,

I have heard of many compensatoin plans that require having you to recruit others...in fact most I've seen on the internet are like this. Most of them are classified as mlm businesses...but many people scrutinise over them being either pyramid schemes or mlm.

Now it depends on the so called 'product value' to classify what kind of business or 'scheme' this is. If the product is genuine and holds a credible value then a potential business can be classified as mlm...however if there isn't a real credible product and the valuation of this product is too high then the word pyamid comes about! Many people don't believe in mlm and automatically call them a 'pyramid scam' without realising the product!

Would anyone like to share their thoughts?

Regards

Most business structures are pyramid shaped and I think most mlm businesses have finally escaped this ridiculous image of a "pyramid" and become an acceptable way of working now.

I know my company is an ethical plc listed on the stockmarket with genuine products and services.
The subject rarely if ever comes up now with the people I meet who are interested in either doing the business or taking the services.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your response, I agree with you on that. It depends on the person you are showing the business oppurtunity to. If they are open minded and see the product and business for what it is, and realise it could work for them then ''pyramid'' doesn't come into it. However most people automatically assume the worst...and just refuse to believe anything like this works. This is the experience I have had when showing my mlm business to people. I am new to this and need to attract like minded people!

I'm just recently getting into MLM's and the potential is great! I think a lot of people still discard them as pyramids though. And on top of that a lot of people don't want to get their friends/family involved and that is how most MLM's make the big bucks, so unless you are willing to enlist the troops you'll never make that type of money. However, there are places to make money on just personal sales.

Network Marketing is one of the most fair business models. Its strength appears in a pyramid shape the same way all organisations are made. Just to mention few network marketing companies Microsoft, IBM, ACN, Apple and Coca cola, would be on the top of the list as the most known network marketing organisation.

Since then many products have been distributed through a network, making a money making opportunity available to many who are willing to work their own business from home.

Network marketing has advanced so much through the internet that some companies are now able to offer security and peace of mind to those people who are interested to work from home.

Have you heard of kazooli.com?
There is no sales, recruiting or promoting required! Yet it is still Network Marketing

Hi Mahesh,

You have made a very valid point about finding like minded people willing to share and help grow your business which to my mind is not strictly pyramid at all and when I discuss my business I never refer to it as such or indeed MLM which seems to get a negative response so I always use IM as it is internet marketing of your product or service which seems to be more acceptable these days.

Sadly, with the explosion of the internet, which is great for our business, it stands to reason that there will be an increasing percentage of sharks and scammers out there who only want to take your money and couldn't care less if you do well or not.

My only recommendation to anyone starting out is to do your research first, no matter how compelling the sales pitch, if the program is sound and established, it will still be there next week or next month, don't be too hasty. Check out the company history, how long have they been trading, how good and 'current' are the references. How good is the training and how easy is it to get support if you need it?

It's a bit like trying to find the rose amongst the thorns but a bit of research at the outset can save a lot of frustration and expense further down the road.

regards,

Mal.
